Deadline Removal FAQ

Since the start of Tip Exchange the removal of the 11am deadline has been the single most requested feature. The 11am deadline is to be removed as from 1st August 2008. This means tipsters can now post tips whenever they want up to 1 hour before the start of an event. They will then be responsible to ‘publish’ their own tips by clicking the ‘Publish’ button once they have added their tips. This will send their tips emails out and publish their tips on the tips pages. Once published tips can not be modified.

Punter Questions
Why have you removed the 11am deadline?
Many Punters prefer to place their bets before they go to work in the mornings and so were unable to use the Tip Exchange Tipsters even though some post tips the previous evening. This allows Tipsters to now publish their tips at the point they add them allowing Punters access to some tips earlier. On the other side of the coin, many Tipsters wished to post tips later in the day in order to take advantage of later information. This will hopefully lead to some Tipsters providing higher quality, more reliable information.

How will I get my tips from now on?
Tips will be sent out in the same way, via email, rss, displayed on the Tipsters tips page and in your portfolio. The difference now is that different tipsters will send out tips at different times of the day.

How many emails will I recieve a day?
This depends on the style of the Tipster. A Tipster can add several tips and send them out in a single email. They may also wish to add information later in the day in which case you may get more than one email per Tipster. Alternatively if the Tipster does not have any tips then you may not recieve any emails.

When will I receive my tips?
Again, this depends on the style of the Tipster. Some Tipsters who have requested the removal of the deadline wish to send their tips out the evening before the racing to take advantage of early prices. Others wish to send tips out after 11am in order to take advantage of late information and price movements. The only limitation is that tips must be published at least one hour before the start of the event.

Do I have to check the website every hour for new tips?
Not necessarily. You will be notified by email when one of your Tipsters has posted new information. You can also subscribe to the Tipsters RSS feed which will also notify you of any new information and provide you a link to the web site to view the tips.

Tipster Questions
How will I post my tips from now on?
You will post your tips in exactly the same way that you always have. The tips are added in the normal way and removed in the normal way. When you add and remove the tips, your subscribers will not see them. The difference is that you have a 'Publish' button and when you click the publish button, the tips that you have added will be published, i.e. displayed in the punters portfolios, displayed on your tips page, sent in emails and your RSS feed. At this point you will not be able to remove any of your published tips, but you can add more if you wish for later publication.

When can I send my tips out?
You can send your tips out at a time that is convenient for you. Tips must be published at least 1 hour before the start of an event. Any tips that are published after the 1 hour deadline will be removed before publication.

How do I send my tips out?
You can add and remove your tips in exactly the same way as you already do, however you now have a 'publish' button that will send your tips out to your subscribers. Once you have published your tips you will no longer be able to modify or remove them.

What happens if I add a tip by mistake and have to delete it?
You can add and remove your tips in exactly the same way as you already do. Therefore you can remove and modify any tips that have not been published. Once published, tips can not be modified or deleted.

Can I still send tips out at 11am?
Yes. You can can add your tips at any point and then click the publish button at 11am.

Can I still add a message to accompany my tips?
Yes. Your message field still exists as before. You need to ensure that you have added your message before you publish your tips, otherwise the message will not be included in the emails. Updating the message after the tips have been published will update your tips page and the punters portfolio, however will not be sent in an email to the subscribers.

How many emails can I send out a day?
Tipsters can publish tips as many times as they wish throughout the day. However you should be aware that subscribers can easily unsubscribe from services should they consider you to be sending too many.

Can other Tipsters now relay my information?
Relaying is when a subscriber to your service sells your information on their own Tipster service. This is now possible due to the different publishing times available to Tipsters. We consider relaying as a serious offence and therefore we have implemented alerts within our system to monitor Punters with Tipster accounts to counter this problem and are confident that all cases will be detected. Any Tip Exchange user caught relaying information both internally or externally will have their subscriptions suspended without refund and further action may be taken where necessary.

What happens if I fail to publish the tips I've added?
Tips that have been added but not published will be removed at the end of each day and will therefore not be included in the Tipsters results.
